Enabling Tips

Here's a Tip: Don't run with scissors.

Here's another Tip - Mobi2Go certainly does allow Tips & this can be enabled by you! 

Aligning your current business set up, tipping policies & POS settings for tips has never been easier. While Mobi2Go has previously allowed tipping (with a little help from our Support team ) we have now made this visible to you the people so you have further control & customisation over how your business is run. 

 

Remember

Tips are set a Store level location, not a Head Office location. If your company policy is no tips but you want to enable tips (or vice-versa) please discuss internally with your Head Office contact/Company Administrator. 

How to enable Tips

  1. From your Store Dashboard, click SETTINGS in the grey navigational pane to go to your Store Settings
  2. In Settings, locate General Settings
  3. Next to General Settings, click EDIT
  4. In General Settings scroll down under the Store information heading until you see Tips
  5. Under the Tips heading is a drop-down menu with No Tipping or Allow Tipping
  6. By default, No Tipping will be set. To change, click on No Tipping to reveal Allow Tipping
  7. Hover over Allow Tipping to highlight & click Allow Tipping
  8. The field under Tips will now display with Allow Tipping
  9. To submit your changes, click SAVE at the bottom of the page
  10. Alternatively, click CANCEL to disregard your changes
  11. To disable tips just repeat the process, but change the Tips drop-down to No Tipping. 

Pro Tip

If the video is blurry when maximised, please click on the cog icon & then click on 720p or 1080p to change the resolution from Auto to 720p/1080p. Give it a few seconds & the video will clear up. 

Note

You will need to check your POS Settings to see if a PLU is needed for Tips to successfully send to POS. In your POS system, find out the Tips PLU (e.g. 6) & note this down, so you can add this to your POS Settings in Mobi2Go. 

Set your Tips PLU in Mobi2Go

  1. Click SETTINGS in the grey navigational pane to go to your Store Settings
  2. In Settings, locate Receiving orders
  3. Receiving orders click EDIT
  4. In Receiving Orders scroll down & locate the Tips PLU field
  5. If no value exists in the Tips PLU field & you use a POS that has a Tips PLU value, add the value into the Tips PLU field 
  6. Check the PLU to ensure it matches the one in your POS
  7. To submit your changes, click SAVE down the bottom of the page
  8. Alternatively if you need to disregard any changes, click CANCEL.

Pro Tip

Remember

Check the tax settings for Tips. By default tips will be taxed so if your tips aren't required to be taxed (e.g. 15%), you'll need to change the tax rate by going to Settings > General Settings > Edit, locate the Tips tax override & select 0%. And don't forget to click Save, to submit your changes.  

Place a test order

 

If you need to test to ensure your Tips are going through from your storefront to POS successfully, you can create a test order & check. Once confirmed, hi-5 yourself for a job well done.
