MOBI Actions

Use this guide to add Actions to Promo Banners, Message Scheduler, and the Receipt Customiser so customers can instantly do something (apply a voucher, view a product/category, visit loyalty, open a link, or download your app).

What are “MOBI Actions”?

Actions are tap targets that perform a specific behavior when a customer clicks a UI element. You configure the action on the component (Banner, Scheduled Message, Receipt Customiser).

Supported Action Types

  • Add Voucher — Applies a selected voucher/promo code to the customer’s session.

  • View Loyalty — Routes the user to the Loyalty page (Sign‑in/Join may be required).

  • View Product — Opens a selected Product.

  • View Category — Opens a selected Menu Category.

  • Open Link — Opens a provided URL (Promo Banners only).

  • App Download — Shows App Store/Google Play buttons (Receipt Customiser only; requires a MOBI‑built app).

Good to know

  • Actions respect location & menu context. If the product/category isn’t available at the current location or time of day, the page may open but the item can be unavailable.

Where you can use Actions

1) Promo Banners (Banner Carousel)

Highlight offers, new items, or loyalty nudges.

Setup

  1. Create a Banner → Upload image or GIF, add headline/subtext (optional).

  2. Pick an Action → Choose from Add Voucher, View Loyalty, View Product, View Category, Open Link (banners only).

  3. Targeting & Schedule → Choose locations, platforms (Web, App, Kiosk) and set dates and/or recurrence.

  4. Order & Visibility → Place in the Banner Carousel; multiple banners can rotate.

Tips

  • Incentives → Pair Add Voucher with a clear value message (e.g., “$5 Off Today”).

  • Discovery → Use View Category for new ranges; View Product for hero items.

  • Links → Use Open Link for campaign or info pages (banners only).

Validation

  • Confirm the product/category names exist and are published on the selected menu(s).

  • Test with a guest vs member if using View Loyalty.

  • Check that voucher rules match the scheduled time/location.

  • Note: Open Link is available only on Promo Banners.

2) Message Scheduler (Marketing or Operational Messages)

Schedule on‑site messages (e.g., ribbon or card) that include an action.

Setup

  1. Create a Scheduled Message → Enter copy and visual style.

  2. Attach an Action → Same action types as banners except Open Link (not available here).

  3. Schedule & Target → Day/Time windows, location(s), and platform(s).

Use cases

  • Push a limited‑time deal (Add Voucher) during lunch.

  • Highlight Catering or Pickup with View Category when relevant.

3) Receipt Customiser

Add post‑purchase blocks to the receipt screen/email that drive next actions.

Setup

  1. Open Receipt Customiser → Add a block (image/text).

  2. Attach an Action → e.g., View Loyalty to encourage join/sign‑in, View Category for reorder flows, or App Download.

  3. Audience → Target members vs guests, or all customers (where supported).

Best practices

  • Keep it single‑focus (one action per block).

  • Use clear CTA labels (e.g., “Join Loyalty”, “See Summer Menu”).

  • If using App Download, verify your app configuration so App Store and Google Play buttons render correctly.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing happens on click → Ensure the action has a valid Selection/URL

  • Voucher not applying → Verify eligibility rules ie voucher allowed at the location or day and that qualifying items are in cart.

  • Wrong destination → Confirm you selected the correct product/category name or the correct URL.
