Stock management

As an online business, ensuring that your inventory is up to date & correct is imperative to your customer's online experience. No matter what the industry - fashion, hospitality or services; no one likes to get to the checkout & find the item is no longer available for you to purchase.

Managing stock in MOBI is simple & it only takes a few seconds to ensure that if an item is Out of Stock, you can flag it so your customers are aware. You can also hide the product/item from the menu to prevent any issues. Once the product is back In Stock, flick the switch to bring it back into stock.

Remember

Stock is managed at an individual Store level, not at a Head Office level (unless you have a single-store Head Office.)

Mark product as Out of Stock

  1. To manage the stock in your store, navigate to the Store (if you're from Head Office)
  2. Click on STOCK in the grey navigational pane to access Stock
  3. In Stock you can search via keyword or code & filter by Products or Modifiers
  4. Search for & locate the product/modifier you're after (e.g. Milk)
  5. Click on the product/modifier you would like to set Out of Stock
  6. Click on the Sold Out tab to tick the box, flagging the product/modifier as Out of Stock
  7. Choose a date for when the product/modifier will be available again
  8. Choose Tomorrow if you know this product will be back in stock tomorrow. The system will automatically return the product to stock at midnight.
  9. Alternatively if you know the stock is unavailable until a delivery (for example) next week, click on the date picker to set the exact date for the product to be returned to stock. The system will automatically return the product to stock at midnight of a chosen date.
  10. Or, choose Indefinitely if you are not sure when this product will be back in stock
  11. Once a date option has been specified, click OK to submit the changes
  12. In Stock the table will update to show the period the item is unavailable for (e.g. 5 days.)
  13. Out of Stock products will be semi-transparent on your storefront where the text Sold out will also be displayed and replace the Add to Order button
  14. If a modifier is marked as Out of Stock, it will simply have a line through it, crossing it out with the text Sold out in the list of modifiers on your storefront.

Pro Tip

If you mark a Product as Out of Stock in MOBI, ensure that this is also marked as Unavailable/Out of Stock in POS. Likewise when marking a product as back In Stock. Otherwise, orders will fail to be dispatched to POS due to the mismatch.

Note

You will need manually set this product to 'Available' once it is back In Stock
