Understand your sales and orders performance

Please note: reports and dashboards in the "Analytics" section of your MOBI account are generated based on order date: the date/time the order was places, the reports in the "Sales" section of your MOBI account are generated based on expected date: the date/time the order was expected to be prepared. This can sometimes cause minor differences in figures reported.

Track and understand your total sales and order volumes to see how your business is performing over time, and which channels and locations are performing best for you.

There are a number of modules and reports available to you when you log into MOBI. These allow you to track: total sales value, total order volume, total discount value, average order value, and your top locations by sales.

Total sales

The total sales metric measures the dollar value of sales you have made through all order channels that MOBI offers. The value is after discounts have been applied and includes tax and tips, and is in your local currency.

You can use the Total sales module on your analytics dashboard to track sales over time and compare it to a relevant period of time. Sales by type of order (delivery, eat in, pick up) are also tracked.

Total orders

The total orders metric measures the total count of successful orders you received through MOBI. You can use the Total orders module on your analytics dashboard to track order volume over time and compare it to a relevant period of time.

Your detailed total sales report allows you to see the breakdown of sales into Total sales, taxes, discounts, delivery fees, and tips. You can also filter to see how total sales and orders compare across different order channels, locations, order types, and platforms.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my sales up/down?

There are a number of reasons your sales could be trending up or down, here are a few to consider:

  • Seasonality. Restaurants typically find that they sell more during certain times of the day, week, or year.
  • Events/holidays. Local holidays, or worldwide events can change people's ability or willingness to order food from your store.
  • Marketing and sales efforts. If youโ€™ve been running successful marketing campaigns and promotions, you may see increased sales.

Looking at how sales have changed across different dimensions is often useful in understanding why sales have changed. For example, consider looking at which order types you are receiving more or less of - is delivery up and pickup down?, or whether one of your locations is over or under-performing.
