"The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning him or her. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, the data subject shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement."
- Art. 16 GDPR; Right to rectification
When a customer requests that that you update the data you have about them from a service, platform, database etc. GDPR refers to this as a “data update” request. When this request occurs, some of that data may be held in Mobi2Go.
Remember
You will have to ensure you fulfil the same request with all systems your business uses (e.g. POS, sales, payment gateway, marketing, etc.)
All customer data in Mobi2Go is under the customer’s control. The best way for them to update it is to log into their account on your restaurant’s Mobi2Go storefront (ordering page) and for them to correct the data there.
If the customer is not happy updating the data themselves then your next step is to confirm their request.
As a business owner, you have to vigilant to fulfil this request & we here at Mobi2Go are here to help you through this process. Here a few things you can check, prior to coming to us:
- Confirm the customer's request - you need to be sure that the customer is who they say they are & that they do want this request fulfilled
- Ask the customer to respond - ask them to reply to your confirmation via the email address or phone number that you the business, should have on file. (Alternatively your business may have a more robust process to confirm customer requests.)
- Pass the request onto Mobi2Go - once your customer has confirmed, please contact our Support team with the old and new details about the customer and say that they would like their information updated. We will CC in the customer to the communication, so that the process is 100% transparent.
Once it's lodged with our Support team, we’ll follow up once this has been completed.
