Modifiers are assigned to a modifier group.
For example, the modifiers 'regular', 'oat milk' and 'no-fat' would be assigned to the 'milk options' modifier group for a coffee product.
A modifier can be assigned to more than one modifier group.
Tip - You can import modifiers directly through the Menu Importer.
Creating New Modifiers
Display Name - This is the name for the modifier that displays in your Storefront to customers.
Internal Name - This is useful if you have multiple modifiers and want to assign more descriptive names to them for internal tracking in the menu editor. The internal name is not seen by customers.
Price - The price of the modifier.
Choose image - To select an image for the modifier.
Type - See next paragraph.
PLU - When integrating your Store with a point of sale system you will need to assign a PLU to each modifier. The PLU needs to be the same as the PLU assigned to the corresponding modifier in your point of sale. If you are not integrating with a point of sale then a PLU is not required.

Creating New Modifiers - Advanced
The following advanced settings are available when creating a new modifier:
Additional PLU Settings (Remove) - When integrating your Store with a point of sale system and utilising 'remove modifiers' you can assign the PLU here for the corresponding 'remove modifier'. If a customer 'removes' the modifier from their order the remove PLU will be sent down instead of the modifier PLU. The PLU needs to be the same as the PLU assigned to the corresponding 'remove modifier' in your point of sale. If you are not integrating with a point of sale then a remove PLU is not required.
Additional PLU Settings (Left) - When integrating your Store with a point of sale system and utilising 'left modifiers' you can assign the PLU here for the corresponding 'left modifier'. If a customer chooses the 'left' option only the left PLU will be sent down instead of the modifier PLU. The PLU needs to be the same as the PLU assigned to the corresponding 'left modifier' in your point of sale. If you are not integrating with a point of sale then a remove PLU is not required.
Additional PLU Settings (Right) - When integrating your Store with a point of sale system and utilising 'right modifiers' you can assign the PLU here for the corresponding 'right modifier'. If a customer chooses the 'right' option only the left PLU will be sent down instead of the modifier PLU. The PLU needs to be the same as the PLU assigned to the corresponding 'right modifier' in your point of sale. If you are not integrating with a point of sale then a remove PLU is not required.
Override Product PLU - If set to '1' the modifier PLU will override the PLU assigned to the product when sending to your point of sale. If you are not integrating with a point of sale then this option does not apply.
Size Based Pricing - If your modifier pricing is dependant on the size selected you can define the price levels here.
Price Tiers - This is used to set the modifier with a different price than the price set in the main settings. Example: if two locations sell the same product but priced differently, location 1 can use the main price while location 2 can use Price Tier 1.
Important: the price tier will only be applied for a location if this location is set to a price tier in its settings (Store >> SETTINGS >> GENERAL SETTINGS >> Menu Tier).
Property Tiers - If you are integrating with a point of sale then and use different prices/PLUs for different locations/platform, this where the data will show.
